Global Awakening: Iranian Resilience Inspires Anti-Hegemonic Shift in Europe, Latin America

Hojatoleslam Ebrahimi stated that the resilience of the Iranian nation and the formation of public demands have become a model for the awakening of people in Europe and Latin America, to the extent that public opinion in countries like Spain and Nicaragua has forced governments to revise their political stances.

Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Seyyed Javad Ebrahimi, an international preacher, spoke at a ceremony honoring the people of Spain for their solidarity with the Iranian nation. The event, held amid a massive public gathering at Palestine Square in Mashhad, focused on recent political shifts in Europe and Spanish-speaking nations.

"The awakening of public opinion and the resilience of societies can alter and force the retreat of the macro-policies of governments affiliated with global arrogance," Ebrahimi stated.

The international preacher, who has worked for nearly two decades promoting religious and international discourse in Spanish-speaking countries, noted his previous service with the international affairs office of the late leader of Iran and his current cooperation with the office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Addressing a novel political phenomenon in Europe, Ebrahimi said: "Today, the world is witnessing a behavioral shift in a country located at the heart of the European Union, traditionally recognized as a strategic partner and first-class ally of the United States."

Pointing to the numerous American military bases on Spanish soil, he stressed that Madrid had historically marched in lockstep with Washington's policies. "However, it is now openly taking a stand against US policies, criticizing and challenging their hegemonic behavior," he added.

Ebrahimi described this shift in position as extremely serious, identifying its roots in the global awakening following the events of October 7 in Palestine—a wave of consciousness that has now manifested visibly in Spain and countries such as Nicaragua.

Analyzing the political structure of left-leaning governments worldwide, he explained that while such currents typically adopt anti-imperialist rhetoric upon gaining power, most lack the courage to openly defy the United States. Ebrahimi credited the transparent and anti-imperialist stance taken in the cradle of Europe by the Spanish government to two key factors: the people's resilience and their efforts to hold their government accountable.

Awakening of Public Opinion and the Breaking of Media Monopoly in the West

The international preacher pointed to the post-October 7 atmosphere, stating that citizens in countries like Spain and Britain moved towards anti-hegemonic positions following this historic event.

He attributed this shift primarily to the creation of an open information environment that prevented the censorship of realities by the Western media empire. According to Ebrahimi, once accurate information reached the masses, a wave of demands began, forcing governments to change course under the pressure of public opinion.

Highlighting a stark yet meaningful contradiction in Madrid's diplomatic behavior, Ebrahimi noted that Spain had signed and registered a document designating Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity just two months prior to the war. "A country that held such a hostile position before the war is today, under the influence of public opinion and popular demands, refusing to allow the United States to use its military bases on Spanish soil," he declared.

The preacher described this behavioral change as powerful evidence of the unparalleled power of the steadfastness and demands of the masses, a phenomenon that has also been flowing through the streets of Iran over the past ninety nights. "No government can escape the resilience and demands of its people, because the primary base of power for any sovereignty is the people," he said.

Emphasizing the importance of the continued presence of the people on the scene, Ebrahimi defined the society's main mission under current conditions as the pursuit of legal rights. "It is appropriate at this juncture that the material and spiritual rights of the nation—toyed with during the past ninety days and throughout various imposed wars—be pursued through legal instruments," he stated.

Pointing to the model set by Spain, he noted that this non-Islamic country—defined outside the Axis of Resistance and having previously sanctioned the IRGC—swiftly reopened its closed embassy in Tehran following the formation of popular demands. He attributed these achievements to the power of public demands, stressing that this path must continue until the full realization of ideals and the avenging of the martyred leader.

Ebrahimi went on to describe structural differences in governmental accountability, citing symbolic actions in Latin America. In Nicaragua, he noted, a main street in the capital was named after the martyrs of Minab, in line with public will. He contrasted this with the lack of government solidarity in nations like Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico, where popular demands, although widespread, failed to mobilize an overwhelming majority capable of forcing political change. "In Spain and Nicaragua, this bond between the will of the people and the government's decision bore fruit," he said.

Concluding his speech in Spanish, Hojatoleslam Ebrahimi expressed the gratitude and appreciation of the Iranian nation for the justice-seeking stances and solidarity of the Spanish people in supporting the oppressed of the world.
